Recently, I have been studying flickr and deeply in love with it. I upload a lot of my favorite photos and share them with friends on flickr. And I always wondered how to embed a flickr slideshow on my personal blog.

Fortunately, I have found one simple way to do this. I think that there are many other flickr users who want to embed flickr slideshow to their blog or website too, so I share the method here. Follow this steps to learn how to make a wedding music video in simple 4 steps. What you need are some wedding photos, wedding songs, and video making software.
Select you own wedding pictures
Select perfect wedding songs
Get Video Making Software

Step 1: Install video slideshow software and import photos in it
Install DVD Slideshow Builder Standard and the program will go to browser your computer's digital photos automatically. Then drag your digital photos to the storyboard(There is no quantity limitation of photos) and add the background music by click the "Add Audio" build-in button(Optional).

Step 2: Select styles for your wedding video slideshow
There are 300+ free styles and transition effects that can be used for your wedding video slideshow. Choose your favorite styles and drag it on the photos. Step 1. Create a new page from template

Turning photos into colored pencil sketch

In this article we will show you how you can make a colored pencil sketch from a photograph with your Photoshop or Photoshop Elements.
Here’s the before and after picture:

Step 1: Open your file (file>open or ctrl +o)
Step 2: Make a duplicate of your backgound layer (layer>duplicate layer or by dragging your background layer to create new layer button in your layer pallete).

Step 3: Turn that layer to Black & White (Image>Image Adjustments>Desaturate)

Step 4: Now copy your background copy layer (layer>duplicate layer or by dragging your background layer to create new layer button in your layer pallete).

Step 5: Invert the background copy 2 layer (ctrl +i)
Step 6: Change the layer mode to color dodge, and you should be hardly to see anything on your image.

Step 7: Now apply gaussian blur to that layer. Play around with it until you get the desired look. Here’s mine with 20.5 pixel

Step 8: You’ve got yourself a b&w pencil sketch. Now for some colors, click your ‘background copy’ layer and expriment with the opacity for the desired look. I like it mine with 65%

History of Easter

Easter is upcoming, a festival of overwhelming joy. The joy that celebrates life. Or, rather, the victory of life over death. But does it have any historic background? Eggs, bunnies, who brought those funny stuffs on the soil of America?

Easter, the principal festival of the Christian church year, celebrates the Resurrection of Jesus Christ on the third day after his Crucifixion. The origins of Easter date to the beginnings of Christianity, and it is probably the oldest Christian observance after the Sabbath which was originally observed on Saturday, later on Sunday.

Meanwhile, many of the cultural historians find, in the celebration of Easter, a convergence of the three traditions - Pagan, Hebrew and Christian. According to St. Bede, an English historian of the early 8th century, Easter owes its origin to the old Teutonic mythology. It was derived from the name Eostre, the Anglo-Saxon goddess of spring, to whom the month of April was dedicated. The festival of Eostre was celebrated at the vernal equinox, when the day and night gets an equal share of the day.

But it is pointed out by some that the Easter festival, as celebrated today, is related with the Hebrew tradition, the Jewish Passover. This is being celebrated during Nisan, the first month of the Hebrew lunar year. The Jewish Passover under Moses commemorates Israel's deliverance from about 300 years of bondage in Egypt.

The Feast of Easter was well established by the second century. But there had been dispute over the exact date of the Easter observance between the Eastern and Western Churches. The East wanted to have it on a weekday because early Christians observed Passover every year on the 14th of Nisan, the month based on the lunar calendar. But, the West wanted that Easter should always be a Sunday regardless of the date.

To solve this problem the emperor Constantine called the Council of Nicaea in 325. The question of the date of Easter was one of its main concerns. The council decided that Easter should fall on Sunday following the first full moon after the vernal equinox. But fixing up the date of the Equinox was still a problem. The Alexandrians, noted for their rich knowledge in astronomical calculations were given the task. And March 21 was made out to be the perfect date for spring equinox.

The dating of Easter today follows the same. Accordingly, churches in the West observe it on the first day of the full moon that occurs on or following the Spring equinox on March 21, it became a movable feast between March 21 and April 25.

Still some churches in the East observe Easter according to the date of the Passover festival. The preparation takes off as early as on the Ash Wednesday from which the period of penitence in the Lent begins. The Lent and the Holy week end on the Easter Sunday, the day of resurrection.

Today, with all its joyous customs, Easter is indeed a major popular festival across the United States. A festival that has become more of secular in spirit, though it has religious background. The scars of death and destruction which led people back to the Easter season. They found the story of resurrection as a great source of inspiration and renewed hope. Since then, of course, its joyous customs delight children and adults alike. Easter nowadays is a festival of overwhelming joy. The joy that celebrates life. Or, rather, the victory of life over death.

I often use nature desktop wallpapers if I'd like to kickback and relax, and use sports photos if I'm at work and apply Bible verses to soothe and remind me of heavenly things. Every time I need a change of desktop "scenery" I'd go to the internet to search for great desktop wallpapers.

Picasa offers a great way to make personalized desktop wallpapers. It's the COLLAGE tool of Picasa (if you don’t have Picasa2 yet, you can download it here).
Follow these simple steps to make your own desktop wallpaper:

STEP 1: Open your Picasa2 application and browse the folder where your photos are.

STEP 2: Select at least 8 photos that you want to make part of your desktop collage. (Hold down the control or shift key for multiple selections), and press the COLLAGE button below.

Merge 2 Pictures with GIMP

The combination of images with a fade effect is obtained very easily by using a layer mask in the photo collage creator.
We want to merge the photo of Asin Thottumkal with that of Panch Mahal,a school in India.

1) The two images to merge

2) Add a layer mask
Click on the layer of the image on the right. With the right mouse button, click the "Add layer mask" and the dialog box below appears.	Choose white to initialize the mask. White corresponds to opaque. Now you get this in the layers box:

3) Create a partial transparency

Choose from the tool box:
- A black foreground color .
- A white background color.

Take the Gradient tool.

Make a gradient from right to left, starting from the edge of the
image and stopping in the middle of it, to maintain a visible part.

4) Merge the layers

In the layers window click on "Merge Layers".

Now only one layer is visible in the window.

5) Superpimpose the two images

Click on the image of the model, and "Select All" then "Copy."

Go to the landscape image, in selection mode, and click "Paste."

Move the image to fit as you want.

Save.

“Collage” is a French word that means the act of gluing or sticking, so anything that you can glue together to form a piece of art can be called a collage.

The beauty of creating a collage is that anything goes. Since you decide how you want your collage to look, no two collages need ever be the same. If you’re looking for symmetry, you might want to make two collages that are exactly the same and use them to frame both sides of a window or a bulletin board, or you can use them as the front and back cover of a photo album.

Photo Collages

The most popular form of collage, of course, is a collage that’s composed of photos. The photos don’t have to be in any particular order, don’t have to tell a particular story and don’t have to be all in color or all black and white. However, if the collage will be composed of photos, search for close-up photos that are crisp and clear.

For instance, if a teenager is creating a collage for her bedroom wall, the first order of business would probably be to round up all the great, fun photos the teen has. Find photos of the teen alone as well as with friends, pets and family members. The photos can then be overlapped, turned sideways or placed upside down, depending how your teen would like them, or placed in a manner that allows the artists to create a picture, such as a flower pattern or a sunburst.

Other Fun Collage Items

Displaying photos alone is the most typical form of collage, but you can also add other materials. A collage can be made even more fun by adding bits of ribbon, stickers, word bubbles, candy and gum wrappers and borders with stencil or rubber stamping decorations. If using candy and gum wrappers, use wrappers that are from your favorite candy and gum. For example, if your name is Clark or Joy, use Clark or Almond Joy wrappers, respectively. Maybe you want to add the labels from your favorite snack foods, such as chips, popcorn, pretzels, cereal names and soda pop.

If the collage is intended to be a portrait or outline of who you are, you might want to add words from newspapers, magazines and food labels. The word Cool, taken from a Cool Whip container, can be added to the collage to signify that you are cool or that you use that word a lot. Or, you can create words with stencils and rubber stamping techniques. Large bold letters or numbers signifying the names of friends, the date and other important events in your life would add to the collage by making it both interesting and timely.

Collage Border

Not only does a border give a collage a definite edge, but it also can be used to define the person the collage is being made for. Create this look by choosing items that say something about the person. A border for a collage that is being made for a teenager or by a teenager can be created out of strips of her last exam paper, strips of ribbon, movie ticket stubs, sashes from pageants she’s won or blue ribbons she’s won over the years in sporting events. Words or messages can also be used as the border.

Collages are generally mismatched bits from a person’s life. Because pictures often tell a story, even when you didn’t engineer the collage in that manner, you’ll be surprised by what other people see or get from your collage upon seeing it for the first time.

How to Make a Collage

It’s very easy to make a collage; you are only limited by your imagination and the things you have around the house. The first thing you will want to do is pick out a background for your collage. You can make a collage on a piece of posterboard, cardboard, even a large piece of paper or sheet of yesterday’s newspaper.

There are no rules that dictate how to make a collage. If you’re doing this project with kids, watch what they do and try to bring the same sense of play to your collage work. If you haven’t done something this unstructured in awhile, you might find it difficult. There’s no right or wrong way to do it; every result is perfect. That can either be freeing or scary, depending on your personality.

A great way to remember your travel adventures is to make a collage of pictures and other mementos. Start with color copies of your favorite travel snapshots, then add things like your airplane boarding passes, tickets from shows, a matchbook from that great Italian restaurant, the lucky penny you picked up on the boardwalk or the perfect shell you found on the beach. This is a perfect way to keep all your memories together and to be able to see those things every day.

It is great fun to make a collage with your children, but even if you don’t have kids you can have fun with collage. Step 1. Create a new scrapbooking from template(the software supplies four ways to start the design including from template, from layout, from blank and from image) and select your favorite pre-designed template; here we choose the template named as General 20.

Step 2. Double click or drag photo from the left list box to the frame of template.

Step 3. Move and adjust the size of photo in the frame to the best effect by using the editing toolbar upper of the selected photo; The first button is used to move the photo in the frame;are used to enlarge or reduce the size of photo in the frame. How to doodle a Valentine scrapbook page step by step

What you need:

1. Digital photos of your sweetheart

2. Wondershare Photo Collage Studio

Step 1. Create blank Scrapbook Page

Download Wondershare Photo Collage Studio and run after installation. In the welcome screen, select "Create Blank Scrapbooking page " to go straight to blank Work Space.

Set Background

In this sample, I imported an image to set as the background. Both built-in and your image files are supported. Here is how:

1. Bring up Scrapbooking Settings dialog box by clicking Set button above Work Space or right-clicking empty area on background.

2. Check Image ratio button followed by clicking Load button

3. Select a thumbnail or click Import button to select an image from local disk. Click OK to finish browsing photo.

4. Select Stretch in Background panel

5. Click OK

Step 2. Add Picutre

To add photos, first locate photos on the left hand side and directly drag favorite photos to desired photo frame. Double-clicking a photo would also add photo to Work Space, however, in a different way. Photo added in this way will not contain any frame. After added, you can rotate, swap, crop, swap, pan and resize these photos through buttons, tool bar or right-click menu.

Step 3. Apply Mask

As you could see, the added picture with or without a frame has distinct edge. To merge the image to the background perfectly, apply the Mask effect. Only a few clicks are needed to do so:

1. Go to Edit Photo tab -> Mask tab on the left hand side

2. Select the photo you want to apply mask to.

3. Double-click the mask thumbnail to apply it to selected photo. You could get more masks through the drop-down list on top. To cancel used mask, either right-click desired photo and select Clear Mask or simple click correspond button in smart tool bar of photo.

Besides, you can also edit photo by adding frame and filter effect in Frame tab or Filters tab, respectively.

Step 4. Decorate Scrapbook Page

Switch to Decorate Scrapbooking tab and go to Text tab first. There you can directly input desired text, which will be displayed simultaneously to Work Space. Further settings are also available, such as Font, Size, Color, Shadow, Halation and Texture.

Next, draw doodles to connect love photos in heart shape. First switch to Doodle tab and click Make Pieces button to bring up the canvas. As shown below, the tools locate in the far right corner, and parameters of these tools could be defined under tool panel. So, first select a tool, which could be Pencil, Brush, Eraser, Magic Stick, Rectangle or Oval tool and then hold down the left button of your mouse and move to draw as you like. Do like a painter.

Before printing, you should make sure the preview is right. If anything is not perfect, change it by turning back to previous steps. Usually, select the correct orientation and make perfect layout, then you could proceed to printing. In some situations, margins could come out. Making the Valentine's Day Card

Now that you have downloaded the cloudy sky image for the background and selected a photo for the heart, we are ready to create the card image.

The first way: In Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0

The second way: In Photo Collage Studio （Free template provided）

In Adobe Photoshop Elements 4.0

All steps apply to Photoshop Elements 2.0 - 4.0, unless indicated otherwise as v2, v3, and v4.

Create a blank image in Photoshop Elements to match the photo paper dimensions. In this example I am using 4x6" paper. We'll call this the "Valentine image".

Commands:
- v3 & v4 File > New > Blank File
- v2 File > New
- In the New dialog box enter the following settings and click OK:
Place the cloudy sky background into the the new image, taking up the entire canvas area.

Commands v4:
- File > Place
- Locate the cloudy-sky.jpg file on your hard disk and select it by clicking on it once (this file was downloaded in previous section)
- Click the Place button
- Click the checkmark button on the toolbar to accept placement and size
Commands v2 & v3:
- File > Open
- Locate the cloudy-sky.jpg file on your hard disk and select it by clicking on it once (this file was downloaded in previous section)
- Click the Open button
- Right-mouse click on the image name in the Layers palette and choose Duplicate Layer
- In the Document drop-down list select the name of the Valentine image (at this point it should be called "Untitled-1")
- Click OK
- File > Close
- Click the Move Tool
- Drag inside the image to move the top left corner to the canvas' top left corner
- Drag the bottom right corner of the image while holding the Shift key, until it fits the canvas
- Click the checkmark button on the toolbar to accept placement and size.
Re-name the new layer created by the sky image to sky.

Command: Double-click the current image name in the Layers palette and type new name, then hit Enter
Save the Valentine image to your hard drive in a place where you can find it.

Commands:
- File > Save As
- Change the Format to Photoshop
- Enter photo-valentine.psd as the file name
- Click Save
Draw a red heart shape in the middle of the image.

The heart shape has been created in its own layer.

Commands:
- Click the Custom Shape Tool .
  This tool may be hidden by one of the following tools: , , , , , or . Hold your mouse down on the visible tool to reveal the other tools.
- On the top toolbar select the heart shape
- On the top toolbar set the Color to red (R:255, G:0, B:0)
- Drag your mouse over the background to draw the heart shape. Use the Move Tool to adjust the heart position, size, and shape.
Once you are satisfied with the shape, size, and position of the heart within the image, select its outline and save it. We will use the outline to cut a heart-shaped hole in the sky and to cut a smaller hole within the heart itself. The photo will show through these two holes.

Commands:
- Layer > Simplify Layer
- Click the Magic Wand Tool
- On the top toolbar, configure the settings as follows:
  - Click the New selection mode button
  - Set Tolerance to 100
  - Remove the checkmark from Anti-alias
  - Set the checkmark on Contiguous
  - v3 & v4 Remove the checkmark from Sample All Layers
  - v2 Remove the checkmark from Use All Layers
- Click in the middle of the heart to select it.
- Select > Save Selection
- In the Name box enter heart
- Click OK
- Select > Deselect
Cut a hole in the sky the shape of the heart.

The checkered pattern of the canvas is visible through the heart-shaped hole in the sky image.

Commands:
- Select > Load Selection
- In the Selection box choose heart
- Click OK
- Hit the Delete key on the keyboard
- Select > Deselect
Make the heart layer visible.

Command: In the Layers palette click the location where the small eye should be to the left of the layer to make it visible
Select the heart layer.

Command: Click on the layer in the Layers palette to select it
Make sure that the Styles and Effects palette is visible.

Command v3 & v4: Window > Styles and Effects

Command v2: Window > Layer Styles
Apply the Wow Plastic layer style to the heart layer.

Commands:
- v3 & v4 In the Styles and Effects palette select Layer Styles and Wow Plastic
- v2 In the Layer Styles palette select Wow Plastic
- Click on the Wow-Plastic Red style box. Now the heart has a beveled plastic appearance.
- In the Layers palette double-click on the heart layer style indicator to bring up the properties dialog box
- Adjust style settings as desired and click OK when finished
Cut a hole in the heart through which the photo will show.

The canvas is visible once more through the holes in the heart and the sky. Our picture will show through these two openings which make up the heart frame.

Commands:
- Select > Load Selection
- In the Selection box choose heart
- Click OK
- Select > Modify > Contract
- In the Contract By box enter 100 pixels and click OK
- Select > Feather
- In the Feather Radius box enter 30 pixels and click OK
- Hit the Delete key on the keyboard
- Select > Deselect
Add the text banner to the lower end of the heart.

- Click the Custom Shape Tool
- On the top toolbar select the banner 2 shape (second box on second row in the "Default" shape list)
- On the top toolbar set the Color to red (R:255, G:0, B:0)
- Drag your mouse over the background to draw the banner shape. Use the Move Tool to adjust the banner position, size, and shape.
Apply the Wow Plastic layer style to the banner layer.

Commands:
- v3 & v4 In the Styles and Effects palette select Layer Styles and Wow Plastic
- v2 In the Layer Styles palette select Wow Plastic
- Click on the Wow-Plastic Red style box. Now the banner has a beveled plastic appearance.
- In the Layers palette double-click on the banner layer style indicator to bring up the properties dialog box
- Adjust style settings as desired and click OK when finished
Add text to the banner. Don't be too concerned about making your text fit the banner on the first pass—we will adjust the size later.

Commands:
- Click the Horizontal Type Tool .
  This tool may be hidden by one of the following tools: , , or . Hold your mouse down on the visible tool to reveal the other tools.
- On the top toolbar select desired font. In the example I used Viner Hand ITC.
- On the top toolbar set the font size to 22 pt
- On the top toolbar click the Center text button
- On the top toolbar set desired text Color. In the example I used white.
- Click approximately in the middle of the banner shape and type your text. In the example I entered "Be My Valentine".
- When finished typing, click the Move Tool .
  (If you need to change the text at any time, click on the text layer, click on the Horizontal Type Tool, and click your mouse on the text.)
Position and size text inside the banner.

Text sized and positioned to appear inside the banner.

Commands:
- Click the Move Tool
- Make sure that the text layer is still selected by clicking on the text layer in the Layers palette
- While holding down the Shift key, drag one of the corners of the text box to size it
- Drag inside the text box to move text to center of the banner
- Repeat sizing and moving steps as necessary
- Click the checkmark button on the toolbar to accept placement and size
Now that we have a completed heart frame, we are ready to insert the photo under all of the layers.

Commands v4:
- File > Place
- Select the photo file and click Place
- Click the checkmark button on the toolbar to accept placement and size. Leave the photo size as placed—do not size or move yet—we will do that next.
Commands v2 & v3:
- File > Open
- Select the photo file and click Open
- Right-mouse click on the image name in the Layers palette and choose Duplicate Layer
- In the Document drop-down list select photo-valentine.psd
- Click OK
- File > Close
Re-name the new layer created by the photo to photo.

Command: Double-click the current photo name in the Layers palette and type new name, then hit Enter
Move the photo layer to the bottom.
